iPhone 14 will have Pro features on basic models?

The upcoming iPhone 14 will have two features previously intended for the Pro models, rumored to be available on the main models.

ProMotion, Apple’s brand name for the ability to display variable refresh rate, was exclusive to iPad Pro until last fall. That’s when the company put 120Hz refresh rate support on the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max.

However, Apple retained this feature exclusively on the Pro models and made no changes to the refresh rate of the simple iPhone 13. ProMotion has since also appeared on the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro.

According to Haitong International Securities supply chain analyst Jeff Pu, iPhone 14 buyers won’t have to choose between Pro models and simple ones this fall to have ProMotion.

Pu expects all models to support ProMotion this year. This means that Apple customers won’t have to spend a thousand or more to get smoother traffic and take advantage of more efficient refresh rates.

In addition, Pu predicts that the basic models will have 6GB of RAM rather than 4GB that they had in previous generations. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will probably keep the 6GB of RAM that the 12 Pro and 13 Pro had.
