The new Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 features 12GB of GDDR6X memory at 19Gbps (vs. 10GB of the first version), 8960 CUDA cores (versus 8704 of the version with 10GB of memory) and 384-bit memory interface width (versus 320-bit version with 10GB of memory).
Tensor units as well as RT (Ray Tracing) drives have also been increased to 280 and 70 from 272 and 68 in the “first version” of the graphics card.
Understandably, this new high-end GeForce RTX 30-series graphics card is located between the RTX 3080 and the 3080 Ti with its 10,240 CUDA cores (featuring 320 Tensor drives, 80 RT drives, 384-bit memory width interface and 12GB of GDDR6X).
It should be noted that most graphics cards released by Nvidia partners (e.g. Gigabyte, MSI, ASUS, etc.) will be LHR, i.e. Light Hash Rate and therefore will have a lower return on cryptocurrency mining.
