The new battery equipped the solar electric Sono Motors Sion will offer better autonomy and more power. In fact, the new energy storage unit will have less Cobalt, Nickel and Magnesium.
According to what Sono Motors is investigating, which has developed the Sion model with the possibility of solar charging, in addition to providing power from its battery, most drivers want to have a lot of range available for their electric vehicle. Sion’s new 54 kWh LFP battery offers 305 km of range.
Sion’s solar panels are capable of offering approximately 112 kilometers of additional autonomy per week, which enhances the overall autonomy of the vehicle.
The new unit has a longer life, since it can support up to 3000 charging cycles, which can be translated into 900,000 km, so one can say that it corresponds to the entire life of the vehicle.
The Sion will be manufactured in Sweden and is powered by a 120 kW (163 hp) and 270 Nm of torque electric motor. In its body there are 330 photovoltaic elements, which are enough to add 35 km of range per day.
